Mr. Murphy contributed his expertise to the development of the INTERPOL Handbook on Ballistic Evidence which can be downloaded from the INTERPOL Ballistic Information Network. He also played a key role in the groundbreaking Quantum 3D Microscope – Benchmark Study.

Paul J. Murphy is a forensic firearm expert with over 40 years of experience. From 2005 to 2024, he was Senior Firearms Technical Advisor for LeadsOnline, consulting with labs worldwide. He has worked on 8,000+ cases and testified in U.S. and Southern African courts.
His career includes roles as a Forensic Firearm Examiner with the South African Police and Senior Forensic Scientist with the Virginia Division of Forensic Science. A Distinguished Member of AFTE, he has led global training workshops and simplified the Double Casting Process. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Forensic Criminalistics and certifications in Firearm Examination.
